Description

The Data Analyst – Fleet Utilization supports the Fleet Utilization Manager by delivering accurate, timely, and actionable analytics related to aircraft utilization, operational performance, maintenance impact, and cost efficiency.

The role transforms complex operational datasets into meaningful insights, dashboards, predictive models, and KPI reports that directly influence fleet planning, operational reliability, maintenance integration, lease compliance, and strategic decision-making.

This position plays a critical role in optimizing fleet performance, improving aircraft availability, reducing inefficiencies, and supporting long-term business planning.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, clean, validate, and analyze large datasets related to aircraft utilization, block hours, cycles, ground time, delays, and operational performance.
  • Identify trends impacting aircraft availability, schedule integrity, and maintenance readiness.
  • Support optimization of aircraft routing and utilization through data-driven insights.
  • Conduct scenario modelling for aircraft assignment, engine changes, and major maintenance planning.
  • Develop, maintain, and automate fleet KPI dashboards, including:
  • Utilization Rate
  • On-Time Performance (OTP)
  • Technical Dispatch Reliability (TDR)
  • Aircraft Availability
  • Ground Time
  • Maintenance-driven Downtime
  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly fleet utilization reports for internal stakeholders, OEMs, lessors, and leadership.
  • Build automated reporting pipelines using BI tools, SQL, Python, or dashboard platforms.
  • Analyze maintenance schedules, MEL/CDL impacts, and technical event data to assess their effect on utilization.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, Maintenance Control, and Reliability teams to integrate technical factors into performance analysis.
  • Track utilization parameters related to lease obligations (Flight Hours, Flight Cycles, APU hours, contractual limits).
  • Generate validated utilization reports for lessors ensuring cross-system data consistency.
  • Analyze operational costs related to fleet usage, including maintenance impact, aircraft swaps, and disruptions.
  • Identify and quantify cost-saving opportunities using data models.
  • Support budget forecasting through trend analysis and projections.
  • Recommend improvements to data processes and analytics tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support long-term fleet planning analysis including aircraft inductions, redeliveries, modifications, and performance impacts.
  • Participate in strategic studies related to fleet sizing, schedule planning, and operational resilience.
  • Provide data-backed recommendations to reduce operational risk and improve reliability.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Aviation Management, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
  • Certifications in Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Operations Research are advantageous.
  • 2–5 years of experience in airline operations, operational analytics, fleet planning, flight operations analysis, or maintenance analytics.
  • Experience working with aviation datasets (fleet performance, schedules, reliability data, operational KPIs).
  • Exposure to lease compliance reporting or utilization tracking is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and statistical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • SQL and/or Python highly preferred.
  • Understanding of flight operations, schedule planning, and aircraft performance fundamentals.
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong documentation discipline.
  • Ability to work under tight operational timelines.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
